Hi
I’m Maria Burke, Executive Coach, Business Mentor, Pharmacist and Founder of Waywords Journals. I am a fan of taking small steps to deliver big results. Curiosity whilst working as a Pharmacist then running various other businesses and now as an Executive Coach and Business Mentor led to the realisation that writing down challenges, thoughts, experiences and reflections, packs a powerful punch in terms of providing personal well-being benefits and achieving business results.
My first book, The Formula-How to live your very best life, was an Irish Times bestseller. This book has now been expanded into a workbook and journal and contains straightforward tools to help design the life you want – with clarity and with less stress.
Even though tools work differently for everyone, there are certain practical steps that help to make life easier, cope with stress and bounce back from challenges.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I work as an Executive Coach and Business Mentor and I founded Waywords Journals to communicate the many benefits of journaling. Journaling is a wellbeing resource that offers a high return on your investment. The benefits far outweigh the time and effort put in. This applies to goal setting, happiness, mental wellness – and much more.
As an executive coach and business mentor I partner with clients to deliver success in multiple sectors. I am a member of Enterprise Ireland’s business mentor panel working with start-up and scaling companies to grow and internationalise their business.
My particular expertise is in sales; managing and leading sales teams to plan, negotiate and to reach sales goals. I’m an entrepreneur at heart and have developed a series of coaching tools to complement my business experience. That’s where journaling fits in. When you write down your goals you’re more likely to achieve them.
I’d be delighted to hear from you. If you have an interest in coaching, mentoring, journals or journaling workshops for your team, please email me at enquiries@waywordsjournals.com
We are delighted to collaborate with www.anewmum.com on Pop the Kettle On – a beautiful hand-painted self-care journal for new mums. Sean from www.badlymadebooks.com provides our sustainable notebooks made with a minimum of 70% post-consumer waste materials, which really appeals to us. Rob Stears, a talented illustrator from Dublin came up with the cartoons for When Life gives you Lemons, our quirky journal designed to bring a smile. With his funny, cartoon style and his tongue-in-cheek commentary on life, we couldn’t think of a better artist to collaborate with.
If you have an idea for a journal and would like to discuss a potential collaboration please get in touch HERE.
More about The Formula and how it can benefit you
Having found tools like journaling, regular goal setting, working to your values and defining your purpose so effective in enhancing life and leadership, I decided to compile the tools I found most beneficial into my first book The Formula – How to live your very best life. The Formula is an Irish Times bestseller and became a Dubray Books #1bestselling book on launch.
Given the fact that I enjoy relaxing too and need some down-time as well as being busy with other aspects of life such as family and work, I have spent years working out which tools and habits provide the best return on time and effort put in. I find exercise, drinking plenty of water, meditation, gratitude and journaling to be valuable tools in life. I discovered self-development books in my twenties; books such as Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway, The Power of Now, and many more. Reading various books, over many years, always wishing for more space to write down the answers to questions posed therein, I decided to create guided journals, with a book, work-book and journaling space – all in one, to maximise reading and writing benefits for everyone.
Waywords Journals was founded from a desire to communicate the many practical benefits of journaling for personal and business well-being and success.
